When you are learning how to drive, it is important to keep these tips in mind so you can be a safer driver on our streets!
- Drowsy Driving
Never drive when you are drowsy or sleepy. This can lead to traffic accidents that can be fatal or cause serious injury to you or to other people. In order to prevent being tired behind the wheel, make sure to get proper sleep, avoid caffeine, take regular stops, and never drink alcohol while driving.
- Red Lights
A red light means stop, but you have the right to make a right turn if it is safe. However, you cannot turn right in a city with a population more than one million people; unless there is a sign that says you can do so. Also, if there is a sign that says you cannot turn right, then you cannot turn right.
- The Two Second Rule
This is to help prevent you from traveling too closely. If you can reach the car ahead of you in less than two seconds, then you are too close. It is important to give cars ahead of you plenty of room. This is for your safety! If they need to break or swerve out of the way, this will give you time to react.
